AlcuinAt their regular lodge meeting on the 8th October 2013 Alcuin Lodge received a talk from Margaret Cade the Connaught Court House Manager and at their Festive Board a "paper collection" raised £150. The Worshipful Master, Paul Bissett, was pleased to present the money to Margaret.

Situated in extensive parkland close to York City centre, the Home was purpose-built in 1971. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained, providing pleasant areas to sit and walk with sufficient space for disabled access.

Connaught Court is registered for residential, nursing and dementia care with the dual benefits of individual rooms and shared communal areas. The categories of care offered are dependant upon people's assessed individual needs.

The home has been awarded the Dementia Care Matters Butterfly Service Status for its dementia care service.

Association of Friends of Connaught Court...

The RMBI is committed to ensuring that residents in all the Homes receive the highest level of care and support. They rely on the generous support of the Freemasons who play a significant role in their service provision.
In all RMBI Homes, a volunteer group of local Freemasons exist, called the Association of Friends. Each Association of Friends group has been established with the purpose of working with the RMBI Homes to complement the service to residents. The group are also a great opportunity for local Freemason and their dependants to practically support the work of the charity.

Life Membership of the Association from only £10.00

Benefits of membership – The association was started in 1973 with the aim of enhancing the quality of life for the residents. Members of the Association and their families give much appreciated practical assistance that helps to make life in the home more comfortable and enjoyable. This includes the running of a weekly shop in the home. Money raised by the Association has enabled the purchase of a minibus, the refurbishment of the rooms and the provision of items such as televisions and video recorders. The Association organises the annual Garden Fete which is a highlight of the summer and also raises significant funds.
Membership of the Friends of Connaught Court is open to everyone and they particularly welcome the members, families and friends of all the lodges in the Provinces. You can become a life member of the association by donating a minimum of £10.00. Donations in excess of this amount are always most welcome. Please contact your Charity Steward who will be pleased to provide you with an application form supplied from your local Area Representative.
