05 Dec Big switch on
Friday November the 29th at 17:00 saw the official switch-on of the new Christmas lights for the large tree in Dyer Lane, Beverley.
During 2019 local Freemasons had donated sufficient funds to enable this brand new extension to Beverley’s Festive lighting. The illuminated tree is dedicated to the work of the Motor Neurone Disease Association’s work in the East Riding and Hull.
Beverley’s Mayor, Councillor Duncan Jack, his Consort – his wife Joy, Freemasons (including W Bro Dr David Chambers the Deputy PGM, his wife Maureen and E Comp Jonathon Smith Deputy Grand Superintendent), MNDA personnel and members of the public gathered for the event. The Mayor thanked the Freemasons for their efforts and also for all their other local charitable activities. Sincere thanks were also expressed by Andrew Hancock of the MNDA.
A permanent plaque will be displayed adjacent to the tree to commemorate the occasion.
