The values of Freemasonry are based on integrity, kindness, honesty and fairness. Freemasons are taught to practice charity and to care, not only for their own, but also for the community as a whole – both by charitable giving, and by voluntary efforts and works as individuals.

YORK'S Freemasons dug deep into their pockets this week for the York Blind & Partially Sighted Society. The worshipful master of the York lodge, Michael McCloud, and the director of ceremonies, Michael Jeffery, from the Masonic Hall in Duncombe Place, made a presentation of £720 on Thursday(April 5). Mr McCloud said: "Masonry today is a great organisation that supports many charities all over the UK, including St Leonard's Hospice, the air ambulance and Snappy [which works with children and young people with a range of disabilities in York]."   To Read the full article Click Here
  The festive period of 2017 saw Minster Lodge No. 4663’s Charity Steward, Bro. Terry Ratcliffe launch the sale of The Minster Lodge Christmas Decoration, a Festival 2018 fundraiser that raised a fantastic £375, this donation further added to the tremendous effort the Brethren of Minster Lodge had already made by raising over £30,500 for the Festival Fund. The decorations were made by Miss Waddington a local lady who runs a small online business using a heart shape design and blue ribbon, which was intended to represent the charity stewards collar and jewel.   On Tuesday 24th October the PGM on behalf of the Filey Craft Lodges and Chapter presented a complete set of Stone Masons working tools to the newest apprentice in York Minsters stone yard. The WMs And 1st Principal were given a guided tour of the workshop and the present conservation project high upon the scaffolded South side of the Minster. The Master Mason gave a detailed presentation on the preparation of the plans which enable the craftsmen to carry out the work.   To view photos from the day, click here

Final preparations are being made for the Masonic Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge 50 cyclists have been training hard for the epic coast to coast challenge commemorating 300 yrs of Freemasonry. The ride will start at Workington on the 1st September and finish at Roker seafont on the 3rd September approx 2-3pm (postcode SR6 0PP) COME ALONG AND CHEER THEM IN... After a photo call and lots of back slapping, they will head down to Middlesbrough Masonic Hall to be greeted by the Provincial Grand Master around 5pm.
