Freemasons support local kid’s charity The Island

Freemasons offer further support to local kid’s charity The Island

Bryan Redshaw, Worshipful Master of the St Saviour Lodge handed over a Laptop and i-Pad purchased for York children’s charity, The Island, to Nigel Poulton and Emma Bewlay of the charity.
Receiving the equipment, Mentoring Co-ordinator, Nigel Poulton said that ‘The laptop and iPad will enable us to carry out some of our work much more easily. One of our team conducts regular supervisions with each of our volunteer mentors and will now be able to record these at the various locations on the iPad and send them directly to our database over the internet. This not only reduces paper use and storage but keeps all records more secure. The laptop can now be used by the co-ordinator of our North Island and South Island at the club meetings for making the necessary record of sessions, attendance and the group supervisions which take place after each meeting. These can now be sent securely to our main database. The Island is most grateful to the Freemasons for these items to help facilitate our service to the vulnerable children and young people here in York.’
Bryan Redshaw added that he was pleased the Freemasons Charity of Yorkshire North and East Ridings could assist such a worthwhile charity in their efforts and that local Freemasons would continue to support similar charities to provide help to those in need.
