Zoes Place Middlesbrough

PGC/LIFELITES/ZOE’S PLACE MIDDLESBROUGH

On Tuesday 1 November 2016 Assistant Provincial Grand Master Stephen Robinson and Provincial Grand Almoner Martin Eggermont were present at Zoe’s Place baby hospice in Middlesbrough; to see the charity Lifelites donate a specialist package of technology for the children.

The equipment, which was presented by Lifelites’ Fundraising and PR manager Dominic Hourd, included a ‘Magic Carpet’, iPads with drop proof grip cases and a ‘Beamz’, a system which the children can use to make music.

The ‘carpet’ is a wonderful unit which projects interactive images on to the floor, and APGM Stephen and I marvelled at and were delighted to see the children smiling and noisily at play on it.

They were playing in a field of poppies when we were there but they can play on the beach, in the sea, in fields, in the clouds or wherever, the choice is unbelievable. The iPads can take all sorts of a bashing from excited and happy children, without fear of any damage.

Corporate and Events Fundraiser Victoria Rogers told us that Zoe’s Place had had the equipment on their wish list for 10 years and for it to be provided at a cost of £8000 by Lifelites was a dream come true.
