PGC/LIFELITES/ZOE’S PLACE MIDDLESBROUGH On Tuesday 1 November 2016 Assistant Provincial Grand Master Stephen Robinson and Provincial Grand Almoner Martin Eggermont were present at Zoe’s Place baby hospice in Middlesbrough; to see the charity Lifelites donate a specialist package of technology for the children. The equipment, which was presented by Lifelites’ Fundraising and PR manager Dominic Hourd, included a ‘Magic Carpet’, iPads with drop proof grip cases and a ‘Beamz’, a system which the children can use to make music. When Kevin Howard,Charity Steward of Leopold 1760 started the December Jolly Boys Christmas Charity Fundraiser, he thought he would have just enough donations to provide 100+ Christmas Dinners for people attending the Salvation Army Citadel on Christmas Day in Scarborough.Due to the kindness of Leopold 1760 members,families & guests at The Jolly Boys Christmas Lodge he had a surplus amount of Donations and put it to the members of Leopold if they knew of any locally based Scarborough Charities which could really use £600.00. The dining room in ward 24 at Scunthorpe hospital will be more relaxing and homely thanks to a generous donation of a 32” TV. Worshipful Brothers Ron Thornton and Rick Theaker of the Minerva Lodge No.250 noticed there wasn’t a TV for patients after Ron had a brief stay in hospital. Ron said ‘he asked the Lodge members for donations and we are happy we can present the TV to provide some comfort and entertainment for the patients.’ Sharon Roberts, ward sister said ‘Were very grateful for the kind donation which our patients will appreciate.
