Ridings Tablers meet at Connaught Court

The Ridings Tablers Lodge held their 163rd meeting by dispensation at RMBI Connaught Court in York at the end of May.

This was perhaps one of the hottest days of the year at that time and gratefully the members and guests were excused jackets.
The library was utilised for the meeting and it was attended by W. Bro. David Galliford PGC and several other resident masons all of whom enjoyed being escorted in as special guests.

On conclusion of the meeting the residents gave greetings from their respective Lodges and Province. Connaught Court laid on a fantastic buffet supper for which the brethren paid their normal dining fee. This, together with the fact that the host building (Trinity Lane, Beverley) had kindly waivered their fees, the Worshipful Master John Ellwood, was able to present a cheque to Connaught Court for £200.00 for the residents benefit.

The healthy and hearty chatter during and after the meeting was felt by many to reflect the true nature of our masonic heritage of harmony and friendship. Following the meeting, W Bro Galliford wrote on behalf of the Masonic Residents at Connaught Court to express how valuable and important it had been for them to be included within a Lodge meeting and how they had enjoyed the company of so many. The Ridings Tablers Lodge hope to put this meeting on their calendar for the future.
