Suits for Humber Rescue

With a donation made earlier in the year of £1,200 to Humber Rescue from De La Pole Lodge No. 1605, Russ Garbutt, Lodge Charity Steward, presented a further cheque for £500 from the Freemasons Charity of Yorkshire North and East Ridings to crew member Roy Begg (pictured left).
This has enabled them to purchase two new rescue crew dry suits. Keeping it in the Masonic family, the suits are manufactured by Ray McKee, Wilberforce Lodge No. 2134, and emblazoned by a Masonic themed commemorative badge designed by Russ.

By a strange quirk of fate when Russ Garbutt was a Captain with P&O, he worked with Chief Engineer Derek Begg father of Humber Rescue crew member Roy Begg. The Humber Rescue Chairman and Coxswain is David Roberts of St Cuthbert’s Lodge No. 630. A small world with significant
Masonic influence!
