21 Nov The Vacant Chair Ceremony
The Vacant Chair Ceremony. Helmsley Lodge 7075, November 2019
The Brethren of Helmsley Lodge 7075 performed The Vacant Chair ceremony at their November meeting in remembrance of the 54 Freemasons from the Province of Yorkshire, North and East Riding who lost their lives during The First World War and all others in subsequent conflicts.
The poignant and moving ceremony was presented in front of visitors and guests, who afterwards joined the Brethren of the Lodge at the Festive Board. Charitable donations were collected for Phoenix House, which is the Northern Rehabilitation Centre at Catterick Garrison, funded by Help For Heroes. The centre helps wounded, injured and sick military personnel to get back to active service or transition into civilian life.
Members of the Helmsley Lodge will be visiting Phoenix House to present the donation and to see for themselves the fantastic work carried out by the volunteers and staff.
